ABOUT THE LAKE Chatuge is a beautiful clear water lake surrounded by mountains of both Georgia and North Carolina. The sprawling fingers with many islands and coves cover 9000 acres and have 200 miles of shoreline. A great majority of the lake borders national forest or is owned by Tennessee Valley Authority and is undeveloped. Chatuge is known to have good bass fishing and is regularly stocked. Large Canadian geese can often be seen in the spectacular rural and mountain scenery.

ABOUT THE COTTAGE
This upscale cottage is located on the scenic northeast end of Lake Chatuge 6 miles north of Hiawassee, Georgia and 6 miles east of Hayesville, North Carolina. The home is in a wooded and easily accessible quiet neighborhood of permanent and summer residences on a moderately sloping lakefront lot. Though not secluded, it still has privacy from adjacent neighbors. A maintenance man cares for the grounds on a regular basis and checks on the homes cleanliness between guests. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with 1800 square feet on two levels. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. The home has ceramic tile throughout and is luxuriously appointed with accent lighting, quality furniture, bedding and accessories. A large deck offers a beautiful panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Outside the lower level, a covered patio has both charcoal and gas grills.

Bedroom AREA ACTIVITIES Numerous activities await the visitors to Lake Chatuge. Besides water activities nearby are golf on the lakes shores, horseback riding, great hiking trails with breathtaking scenery and waterfalls, tennis, state parks (Unicoi, Vogel, Brasstown Bald), many seasonal festivals, white water rafting, excellent country restaurants, craft and antique shops and a multitude of other activities. Brochures on the areas activities can be requested from the following Chambers of Commerce: White County in Helen, Georgia, Towns County in Hiawassee, Georgia, and Clay County in Hayesville, North Carolina. The unique town of Helen, 30 miles south, is an interesting place to see Bavarian style architecture, taste European style cuisine and down home country cooking at many good restaurants, and mingle with crowds at many curio shops. In addition, the responsible party member must complete and sign a document agreeing to read and follow all enclosed instructions and be responsible for the actions of all party members. This form is returned prior to use. The main pontoon boat operator must also sign a similar document.
